How to Reduce the Effects of Hyperpigmentation

The good thing is there can be a way to prevent and reduce them which are scientifically proven. Here are some of them:

1. Use Creams

You can start with over the counter creams whitening creams to help lessen hyperpigmentation. According to a review from Ashenly, although there’s a lot of products that claim to diminish the effects of hyperpigmentation, only a few of the products actually work. A good lightening cream needs to lighten the skin and at the same time control the melanin levels, while doing both, it should also not cause any irritation or worsen the situation of your skin. Although this takes time, and a gradual process,  this is one of the safest ways to reduce the effects of hyperpigmentation.

2. Try Laser Treatment

If you want intense and extra treatment, you can try laser treatment. You can ask for your dermatologist to help you choose which one is the better treatment for you. There are microdermabrasion or dermabrasion that is a laser or a light-based procedure. Most of the conditions of hyperpigmentation are just close to the surface of the skin and others are much deeper, you’ll want to make sure that you choose the right laser treatment for your condition. Laser treatment makes very shallow wounds on your skin that stimulate skin renewal and remove any superficial damage or imperfections on your skin and excess skin pigmentation. This is a little bit quicker than creams but may be expensive.

3. Consider Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a process of putting chemical agents to your skin, it is a controlled removal of your skin’s outer layer that while leads to shedding and removal of some superficial lesions. This will resort to a smoother and more even appearance of your skin.  The downside is,  some of the acid used may be strong or harsh on your skin and you may experience redness and peel for a few days after the procedure. This is not suitable for every skin so you should ask your dermatologist first if this procedure will be good and fit for you.
